September

I've just got back from a trip to Christchurch - I try to get to the WORD festival most years. I'd just finished a very stressful project at the dayjob, and I really needed a break.

It was a good one! WORD was smaller than some years, but everything I attended was worth going to. I listened to writer talks and poetry, bought books, and lurked around zinefest. I also absolutely hoovered up my portion of a table of Burmese food at dinner with writer friends (it was so good!), discovered yuzu hot toddy is Great Actually for my dodgy breathing, sat by the river in the sun, took a book shopping trip to Scorpios, had coffee with other friends, and slept a lot.

Anyway, it's now September which means it's launch month! Spellcasting On is out 16th September and I'm so excited to share it with you. Book 2 - I don't think I've announced this yet - but Book 2 is called Home Entanglements and I'm working through the edits right now. You'll get to hear a bit more from Lane's point of view... and there's a bit of a mystery to solve as well. Watch this space!
