Other people's books!
This newsletter is all about other people's books: books I've enjoyed reading, books I'm excited to read.
I was lucky enough to get my paws on an early copy of Stephanie Burgis' gothic fantasy Beauty and the Beast retelling, A Marriage of Undead Inconvenience and I had so much fun reading it!
(The only problem - if you can call it a problem - is that I've been slowly making my way through Wolf Hall at the moment, and at one point I got very confused about the alternate timelines. Turns out werewolves at the Battle of Bosworth is much more interesting.)
Anyway, it's excellent! Go preorder it now!
Next up - and I am waiting until my paperback of this arrives but VERY TWITCHY about it - is RB Lemberg's Yoke of Stars. Lemberg is one of my favourite writers, I adore their birdverse universe, and I have been looking forward to this a while. You can get your hands on it here.
Another new release I'm excited about is R.C. Ballad's Peregrine Seas, a "swashbuckling age of sail adventure, centering trans characters. Hell yeah, go grab it.
New from my Robot Dinosaur Press colleague A.Z. Louise is Bitterbound, a story of assassins, sorcerer's, and dark secrets. I've really enjoyed Louise's short fiction, so am looking forward to this. You can get it here.
I was delighted to see the new cover reveal for the conclusion to Marie Cardno's super-cute sapphic romance/fantasy Monster Girlfriend trilogy, How to Get the Girl and Not Destroy the World. I loved the first two books and am definitely looking forward to this one. You can pre-order it here.
And lastly, the award-winning entire first season of Janna Ruth's Ashuan universe is now on sale. If you miss Buffy - or just want your dose of urban fantasy action, this is a great way to get lots of words for very little money.
A reminder that I'll be at Palmy Armageddon with my own books. AJ Lancaster and I will be at booth number 99 - look forward to seeing some of you there.
